Dokan Library is required to use MXFS.


If you installing MXFS of versions between 3.2.3.2 to 3.2.5.11, the Dokan version to use is 0.8.0. All the necessary files are supplied by Object Matrix within the provided install packages. In case you need to get Dokan 0.8.0, you can download it from the following URL

If you are installing MXFS 3.2.5.12 or higher, you should use Dokan 1.0.3

How to install Dokan on a system that never had it installed ?


The procedure is simple and common to all windows based systems. All you have to do is download the installer package and follow the install wizard triggered by opening it. When it finishes the install, you will have Dokan Library ready to use on your system:




How to Install Dokan in a system that has a previous version Installed ?


In first place, the existing Dokan Library has to be completely removed.


If you already have Dokan 0.5 or 0.8 on your system, you will need to remove it using the uninstaller that can be found using the path:


C:\Program Files (x86)\Dokan\DokanLibrary\DokanUnninstall.exe




After uninstalling, a reboot is mandatory. The following video exemplifies how this process should take place:

If you are installing MXFS 3.2.5.12 and Dokan 1.0.3 and your system is prior to windows 10, you may have the need to patch your system with the following Security Update from Microsoft:
