In order to access MatrixStore through standard protocols like SMB, NFS or S3 you need to use MatrixStore Hubs (either physical or virtual)
The normal criteria is to dedicate the most heavy load to a dedicated server. That is typically SMB/NFS and/or S3 (on-prem).
The rest of protocols: S3 (via Internet) are lighter CPU-wise so they can be together in the same Hub with or without another backend service like Vision or move2.
The recommendation is:
- Dedicated Linux Hubs for SMB/NFS shares and S3Connect for on-prem performant workflows.
- Shared Linux Hub for Vision and S3Connect (off-prep non-performant workflows)
